The EVK HELIOS hyperspectral cameras classify material based on their chemical properties that are not visible to colour cameras. The non-destructive, and non-invasive technology offers a reliable advantage when removing foreign objects or defective products from quality product streams in the food industry. In the recycling industry the new solution takes on tasks such as the classification of individual polymers in complex plastic waste streams or the evaluation of refuse-derived fuels.
By combining an hyperspectral camera, colour camera and inductive metal scanner, such as our EVK ABAS TL, the purity and sorting depth of material streams can be increased. Complemented by the chemometric software EVK SQALAR for application development, EVK systems collect and analyse large amounts of material data during production, at a speed that allows to make decisions directly in the line.
