EVK HELIOS EC Core cameras are ideal for capturing the unique spectral signatures of materials. In combination with the EVK ALPHA data processing platform, they are a powerful system for industrial applications or for testing purposes in the laboratory. The EVK HELIOS EC is suitable for flexible use of custom models and provides optically corrected spectral data. External calibration is not necessary.
EVK HELIOS EQ Class cameras also have an integrated classification function that uses multivariate spectral data analysis techniques to classify a material stream in real time. As an all-in-one device, EVK HELIOS EQ cameras are perfect for quick and easy integration into your system.
Precise material analysis and classification in real time
Our hyperspectral imaging systems are a reliable and precise tool for monitoring and sorting industrial material flows. Thanks to this non-contact, non-invasive method materials are analyzed and classified based on their chemical composition.
This makes it possible to qualitatively and quantitatively measure properties such as protein, fat, sugar, salt, starch, moisture, oil, or calorific value directly in the production line.
Value Statements
Automated Continuous Operation
The EVK systems replace and optimize previously manual, error-prone sorting of materials or time-consuming laboratory analyses. Save time and money through automation and increase your product quality at the same time.
Excellent Signal-to-Noise Ratio
EVK HELIOS hyperspectral cameras have an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, providing necessary key data in real time. While typical features such as spatial resolution (number of pixels) and frame rate are often used for comparison, response speed and signal-to-noise ratio are crucial, especially for high-speed applications that require high illumination levels and short exposure times.
Short Time-to-Market with Integrated EVK Solutions
Reduce your development time with EVK's integrated personalized all-in-one solutions. Get hardware, software and integration services from a single source and execute your project rapidly and flawlessly.
Design for Industrial Requirements
EVK HELIOS cameras are specifically designed for industrial applications. The compact and robust design with no moving mechanical parts and very good calibration and temperature stability is ideal for applications in harsh environments.
Diverse Applications
The information obtained can be used in a variety of ways for analysis, inspection, process control, sorting, robot guidance, machine vision and decision-making in various industries such as the food industry, recycling and waste management, mining or the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

EVK IRIL
EVK IRIL is an illumination unit specially designed for use with hyperspectral cameras. The illumination is one of the central components of a spectrometric setup. The unit projects a line-shaped light beam onto the conveyor belt or slide, providing a perfectly balanced light intensity for optimal image quality. The EVK IRIL lighting units are available in different lengths and can be flexibly combined. Heat dissipates passively through the cooling profile.
Hyperspectral camera lens
Choosing the right lens for an optical system improves the overall performance of the system. Many factors must be considered when selecting the right lens for a specific application, such as the lens mount, spectral range, focal length, working distance, object size and incidence of light.

How hyperspectral imaging technology works
As a pioneer of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) for industrial applications industrial applicationssuch as sorting and inspection solutions, we at EVK know what is important. EVK products have been successfully used in a wide variety of sorting and process monitoring systems worldwide since 2006.
Our line scan cameras use hyperspectral imaging technology to capture precise spectral information in a wide wavelength range. Unlike conventional image sensors, which only perceive three color channels, a hyperspectral camera can image hundreds of spectral channels. Hyperspectral sensors identify the material by its unique spectral signature and can classify or analyze objects by their chemical composition. Our hyperspectral imaging systems therefore offer a range of benefits for industrial image processing and quality assurance.
Quantitative Material Analysis for Industrial Applications
The EVK sensor systems were developed in close cooperation with partners from the mechanical and plant engineering sector and support machine learning. This has created a measuring system that is specially adapted for use in industrial working conditions.
Thanks to the EVK SQALAR software and specially developed algorithms, machine learning, and data processing for inspection, monitoring, and sorting, EVK HELIOS hyperspectral camera systems reliably detect and help remove unwanted objects from material streams. This real-time capability and robust design make the systems suitable for continuous 24/7 operation in industrial environments.
The quantitative analysis of materials in product streams opens up entirely new application options. Sorting decisions can be made in real-time directly in the production line based on referenced analysis values.
Sensor Fusion for Increased Purity and Sorting Accuracy
EVK makes it possible to combine data from various sensors, such as hyperspectral cameras, color cameras, or metal sensors, and extract key data from the results, forming the basis for further process-relevant decisions. Materials can be classified based on their color, shape, size, as well as their chemical composition and, if desired, sorted or distributed in real time.
